Booking terms & cancellation policy
These terms apply to every booking made with Nisba Travels. The quotation we send you will reference this page, and anything specific to your trip is written into that quotation.
Version 2026.1 · Last updated October 2026
1. Quotations and confirmation
We do not publish package prices, because hotel and transport rates in Kashmir and Ladakh move with the season, the week and availability. The binding figure is the written quotation we issue for your dates, group size and stay standard, and it is the number we hold.
A quotation is valid for the period stated on it, typically 7 days, and is subject to hotel and transport availability at the time of confirmation. A booking is confirmed only when we acknowledge your advance payment in writing.
2. Payments
A 20% advance confirms your dates and holds the hotels. The balance is payable on arrival in Srinagar or Leh unless your quotation states otherwise.
We accept UPI, bank transfer, credit card and cash. Peak periods, including the tulip season, New Year and long weekends, may require a higher advance because hotels demand it.
All quotations are in Indian Rupees and itemised, so you can see exactly what is included before you pay anything.
3. Cancellation
Cancellation charges depend on how close to travel you cancel and on the terms of the specific hotels held for you, which we disclose in your quotation.
As a guide: cancellations 30 or more days before travel carry a nominal administration deduction with hotel advances refunded wherever the property allows. Cancellations 15–29 days before travel attract graduated deductions. Within 14 days of travel, and for no-shows, cancellation charges apply on the full package value.
Where a cancellation is unavoidable due to a government restriction, natural disaster or a road closure that makes the trip impossible, we will first offer alternative dates, and where that is not possible process refunds net of non-refundable supplier costs.
4. Amendments
Date changes requested more than 30 days before travel are free of charge, subject to hotel availability. Within 30 days, changes are treated at the discretion of the suppliers involved and any rate difference is payable.
Adding or removing services during the trip is possible where suppliers allow. Additional services are payable directly; unused services are not refundable.
5. What is not included
Unless your quotation states otherwise, it excludes air and rail fares, lunches and beverages, optional activities, entry tickets not listed, personal expenses, tips, and travel insurance.
For Ladakh trips and all treks, travel insurance covering high-altitude travel and, where relevant, trekking up to 5,500 m, is mandatory. We may ask to see your policy before departure.
6. Changes beyond our control
Mountain travel is subject to weather, landslides, road closures, strikes, curfews and administrative restrictions. Where these shorten or alter a programme, we will reroute or substitute wherever possible, but additional costs (extra nights, rebooked travel, alternative transport) are payable by the guest.
Conversely, we do not profit from disruption: if a service is not delivered and the supplier refunds us, we pass that refund on.
7. Health, safety and conduct
You are responsible for declaring medical conditions that affect high-altitude or long-drive travel. Our crew and drivers are instructed to prioritise safety over itinerary, including descending or turning back where altitude sickness is suspected.
Guests are expected to respect local customs, religious sites and the environment, and to follow the instructions of drivers, guides and trek leaders on the road and on the trail.
8. Liability
Nisba Travels acts as an organiser and principal for the services it contracts. We are not liable for losses arising from events beyond our reasonable control, nor for delays, damage or injury caused by third-party suppliers, weather, illness or the actions of the guest.
We maintain effort and diligence in selecting suppliers, and our on-ground team will assist you in managing any incident that affects your trip.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir.
